Alain Johannes

Teached Flea to play bass guitar, collaborates frequently with QOTSA and PJ Harvey and was Chris Cornell best friend.

Alain Johannes was born in Santiago de Chile, but as a teenager he moved with his grandmother to Europe, after that to Mexico and finally he landed in Los Angeles. There he started his musical road. Alain arrived at the right place, at the right time and met the right people: in his neighborhood he met drummer Jack Irons and bassist Flea - both future members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers with whom he formed his first band. Moreover, Alain helped Flea to venture into the bass guitar.

In his thirty-three years careeer, Johannes has written songs and produced albums with QOTSA, PJ Harvey, Arctic Monkeys, among others. In addition, he helped write Euphoria Morning to Chris Cornell, who was also one of his best friends. He formed a supergroup with John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin), Dave Grohl and Josh Homme called Them Crooked Vultures, with whom he alled the attention of several characters of the scene and was even praised by Paul McCartney.

However, the core of Johannes' music was born in Eleven, the band formed with his late wife Natasha Shneider and Jack Irons. This band had a respected career in the rise of grunge and left its mark on the history of rock. This multi-instrumentalist is a silent protagonist of the music scene of the last thirty years and has a great story behind, a story that can be seen in the documentary Unfinishedplan. The Path of Alain Johannes.

He owns a unique style to play rock and acoustic music. He pairs his beautiful Dream Studio Guitars with a HipStrap Woodstock Brown vintage style guitar strap.
