The birth of the first solid-body electric guitars, heavier than the guitars made in the decades prior to the 1950s, along with the emergence of new musical genres, pushed guitar straps manufacturers to improve the type of straps they made as well as providing greater comfort.  Thus, leather became the main material used, replacing cloth ropes.

The thickness and width of guitar straps increased in order to deliver a better distribuition of the weight of the instrument. Additionally,  the leather shoulder pads allowed weight to be distributed over a greater area of ​​the guitarist's shoulder.

Our "The 1950" straps are inspired by these classic leather straps used by countless musicians from the 50s to the present day, improving their ergonomics, comfort and quality.

Technical description:

• 100% Full Grain Leather.
• Top made out of "Crazyhorse" leather. This leather has been known throughout the centuries for its beauty, strength, and durability.  A coating of natural wax is applied to the leather, then buffed and polished to a rich, smooth finish. Wear and tear will increase the straps beauty – bumps and scratches change the color tones in the leather, creating the rich, multi-hued sheen that only the finest natural leather is known for. 
• Back made with Nappa Soft leather for greater comfort.
• Zamak Hardware.
• Length: Adjustable between 110 cm and 145 cm (43" and 57")
• Width: 2.5 cm (1") strap and 6.35 cm (2,5") wide shoulder pad.
• Shoulder pad filled with 0.5 cm (3/16") thick high-density material.
