"The 1950" Vintage Style Guitar Strap - Black Alligator. Premium Packaging!
The birth of the first solid-body electric guitars, heavier than the guitars made in the decades prior to the 1950s, along with the emergence of new musical genres, pushed guitar straps manufacturers to improve the type of straps they made as well as providing greater comfort. Thus, leather became the main material used, replacing cloth ropes.
The thickness and width of guitar straps increased in order to deliver a better distribuition of the weight of the instrument. Additionally, the leather shoulder pads allowed weight to be distributed over a greater area of the guitarist's shoulder.
Our "The 1950" straps are inspired by these classic leather straps used by countless musicians from the 50s to the present day, improving their ergonomics, comfort and quality.
